Liberals celebrate making of history at DNC in Philadelphia

Liberals from around the world have convened in Philadelphia, USA at the Democrat National Convention (DNC) to mark the historic nomination of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the Democrat Party candidate for the 2016 US Presidential Elections.

In the margin of the National Democratic Institute (NDI - LI cooperating organisation) International Leaders’ Forum, with ran alongside the DNC, Liberal International and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF - LI cooperating organisation) brought together over 60 liberals from more than 26 countries around the world - from Andorra to Taiwan.

Addressing the gathering, which included liberal Prime Ministers, Ministers and parliamentarians, LI President Dr. Juli Minoves said: “What brings us all here in Philadelphia is the common sense that our values are challenged by dangerous illiberal political tendencies in many countries.” The LI President also invited those present to submit contributions to the 2017 Liberal Manifesto.
