President of Honour, Van Baalen, who made numerous trips to Ukriane as the Yanukovych regime crumbled, said in a press statement: 'While I congratulate the Ukrainian people and the President-elect on the running of the presidential elections in Ukraine on 25 May, the on-going violent clashes in Donetsk is deeply disturbing. The elections have confirmed and strengthened the legitimacy of the Ukrainian government and it is now time to end the violence, restore order and security throughout the eastern part of the country and engage in an inclusive and open political process to unite the country."
