Liberal International (LI) organises annually the Isaiah Berlin lecture, where a prominent Liberal personality addresses the public on current questions affecting the present and the future of politics.

This year, the invited guest was Guy Verhofstadt MEP, the European Parliament (EP)'s chief negotiator for Brexit and the leader of the ALDE Group in the European Parliament, who spoke about Trump, Brexit and Europe's future on Monday 30 January to a crowded room at the world-renowned think tank Chatham House in London.

Guy Verhofstadt spoke about the challenges facing Europe amid growing iliberalism across the continent. In his view, the European Union is under threat from three fronts: radical Islam, Russia's President Vladimir Putin and the United States' President Donald Trump.
