Bulgaarse tekenwedstrijd gefinancierd door Europees cohesiefonds (en)

The Bulgarian national drawing competition "How I Want the European Union to Change My Town" was financed under Project â„- 0103-CIO-3.1 "Promotion of best practices under operational programmes, co-financed by the EU Structural and Cohesion Funds and the preparation of the programming period 2014-2020" under Operational Programme Technical Assistance, co-financed by the EU through the European Regional Development Fund.

The contest started at regional level on 17th September 2012 and was finalised on 1st November 2012. The organiser of the initiative is the Network of the Central Information and Coordination Office and 27 District Information Offices for the promotion of the Cohesion Policy of the European Union.

8,130 children (age 6-12 years) participated in the competition. Jordan Karpachev from the town of Velingrad and Mladen Iliev from the town of Lom are the winners. Together with the other 50 regional winners they received awards and certificates by the Minister of European Union Funds Management Tomislav Donchev and the Minister of Culture Vezhdi Rashidov.

At the opening of the award ceremony Minister Tomislav Donchev thanked the children for their ideas and promised them that they will be brought to the attention of representatives of the European Commission, the ministers and district governors. Minister Vezhdi Rashidov suggested that the drawings of all regional winners be exhibited in a special museum exposition. He also offered to organise an exhibition of the paintings in Brussels for the National Holiday of Bulgaria.
