European Liberals mourn the loss of Leonidas Donskis - Hoofdinhoud
Leonidas Donskis, who was a member of the ALDE Group in the European Parliament from 2009 to 2014, suddenly passed away this morning. ALDE Party President Hans van Baalen MEP, who was Donskis' colleague at the European Parliament, has extended his condolences to his family and friends.
ALDE Party President mourns the loss: "Today one of my best political friends, my ALDE MEP colleague Leonidas Donskis has died in Vilnius only 54 years of age.
He was a strong and peaceful fighter for human rights and civil liberties. The European Commission recognised his engagement by awarding him the title of Ambassador for Tolerance and Diversity in Lithuania. In the liberal family will miss him and we will not forget him, a great liberal and a close friend."
